Oz Camping is a seaside camp among olive trees on the aegean coast of Turkey, below the ancient ruins of Assos. (see: assos on lonely planet)
having been overwhelmed by the national holiday crowds taking over coastal towns on the aegean, we changed our previous overcrowded destination and drove to assos, or as marked on maps, behramkale. peaceful and relaxing oz camping welcomed us with greek and turkish music from the aegean, fish meals and a gorgeous sunset. we snorkelled in the crystal clear water and chilled against the breeze from the infinite blue view. got blankets from the camp and laid under the stars on the dock, listening to the waves and sipping wine from the bottle. ate the ‘authentic assos waffles:)’ and just lazed around. was a refreshing holiday, still quiet even during national holiday season.
the camp has bungalows and tents which are no less comfy than the bungalows. they offer turkish breakfast and fish meals, among some other turkish dishes. you can bring your own tent as well. its no five star resort, but rather a friendly little place for the independent traveler. we’re more like backpacker types, and this was a cool budget destination for us.
this is a thank you page for mr muharrem and all the staff who were so kind to us. browse further for photos, click about to see how to get there and archive for a gallery view
pleasant travels
